Another Successful Year!!

IMG_9848Thank you to all of you who participated in Kreationality’s success this past Fall/Winter season of shows.  Whether you purchased a piece, stopped by to chat, complimented what I do, helped me in my booth, offered ideas, introduced yourself as a fellow vendor, congratulated me on my recognition awards, or just smiled as you walked by!  Thank you!  Thank you to my friends and family who support me with this crazy business…. it’s a great feeling to have that support!
As I wind down from the hectic schedule of participating in the four months of shows, I realize that the work to keep this business going does not stop!  I continue to get requests for my pieces now that the shows are over, and I am busy working on adding items to the Etsy site where you can purchase Kreationality pieces.  I am so grateful for those of you that come back for more of my pieces, and purchase the items as soon as I completed creating them!  So my challenge going forward is to stay ahead of the demand!

I have been doing the shows for three years now, and I think I finally have a handle on which ones are the right fit for me, and my crazy pieces!!  That’s a good thing!  I will be able to sew more with a more thought out schedule!
I look forward to spending January through August in my sewing rooms.  My goal is to create double the amount of pieces for 2015.  I promise to have lots more available in 2015.
My industrial serge machine I purchase in 2014 was worth every penny!  It is faster, and goes through much thicker sweaters…. oh, I love it!  I decided to purchase an industrial straight stitch in January, and it is working perfectly to sew the pockets on all the sweaters I am creating!!   I would also like to use the straight stitch machine to get back to wall hangings with the upcycled materials!  They are unique, and fun pieces for home decorating!
Spring is on its way, and I am in my sewing rooms creating one-of-a-kind pieces for 2015  Fall/Winter show season!
Stay connected with Kreationality on Facebook!
Peace,
Karen

Finding the Sweaters…….. 2014

1604412_446474068811853_243496152_nThis picture was taken on my last big sweater shopping trip!  What a HUGE load that was.  I found so many nice sweaters.  Sometimes it just works out that way!  YAY!  The biggest talk I am hearing at the Goodwill and Salvation Army stores is how the prices have increased over the last year.  I noticed this in Rochester last year, and now I see the same thing happening in the Southern Tier.  I actually found three cashmere sweaters on this last trip marked at $14.99 and $15.99….. even if it was half price day, I wouldn’t pay that.  I have found tons of cashmere sweaters in the past, and never paid that much.  Not sure what is happening, but it looks like “goodwill” stores are becoming retail stores.  But it’s obvious from my cart-load of sweaters that I don’t have a problem finding what I need at the right price!  I am flexible, and open to new ideas (and there’s always new ideas) if it ever becomes a problem finding sweaters……. I’m not worried about it.

Right now, I am busy creating arm warmers, and a few custom orders.  The demand for arm warmers at the festivals is unbelievable, and amazing!  It’s so fun to interact with people as they try to make a decision on which pair they want out of the hundreds to choose from.  I will begin creating coats, and sweaters in the next month or so.  I have a HUGE stockpile of sweater inventory ready to be designed, and re-created!  I do have several items available now that you can check out at my Etsy store at www.esty.com/store/kreationality

These last two months I have been busy applying to festivals.  There were so many new events I was told about, and invited to apply to, and I had to check them all out to see if it was a good fit for Kreationality.  I finally narrowed it down, and have applied to six festivals. so far.  I applied to two new ones in the Summer, and both are out of town.  Chautaqua, NY and East Aurora, NY.  To see the list of the juried events I have applied to please visit www.kreationality.com/festivals-and-stores

As mentioned, my Etsy store is now active again.  Mostly, I like to focus my attention on the festivals, but I wanted to have a place for people to purchase my pieces, or just get a good look at them.  I am excited that I have had two out of state sales already.  Cool!  😀    I post LOTS of photos of recent pieces on the Kreationality Facebook page www.facebook.com/kreationality

I am excited to announce Skaneateles Artisans now carries several Kreationality pieces.  Please check out their website.  It is a beautiful gallery, and I am excited to be one of the artisans featured there.

Clothesline Festival

Hey everyone!!
I’m looking forward to the festival season to begin September 7 & 8 at the Clothesline Festival.  Kreationality will be at clotheslinebooth 243 in back of the Museum.  This is a fun  time of year for Kreationality.  All the hours of work from the last 6 months will be on display, and I am so excited!!   To see a list of festivals that Kreationality will be at, check www.kreationality.com/festivals-and-stores.
During the “down” time of January through August, I have been playing with lots of ideas, and creating new pieces.   I ended up going  back to the coats, sweaters, and arm warmers.  I have several totes to bring to the festivals, and some pillows, hats, and scarves too, but for the most part, I like working on the coats, sweaters, and arm warmers.  I enjoy new, and different ideas, and will always be exploring what else I can create from these upcycled sweaters.  I am bringing back my little Christmas trees that started this whole thing.  They are so cute!  I will have those with me at the festivals that are closer to Christmas.
Thank you for all your support, and love!!  I have been selling pieces on the website, so check there if you are interested in one of these unique sweaters at www.kreationality.com/shop
Peace,
Karen
